Answered Question: Perception of Canon and its Relationships

i accidentally linked this post to a question about midori's inner thoughts about chiaki, please go here for the answer to that question!!

those two asks answered my question pretty much! but i do find your perspective fascinating because i don’t think approaching relationships from this sort of angle is really common in fandom? or in my experience at least. i really like your explanation of characters being fundamentally the answer to each other, but i wouldn’t say such a broad perspective is really common among fans. because the topic of ships can be such a touch-y subject for many people, i noticed some tend to hone in on specific dynamics, and ignore everything else that might possibly interfere with it (even fundamentally important platonic relationships!!). but i do think there’s value in analyzing things even if you don’t per se enjoy it, and that itself can be worthy of analysis too!

weh i’m glad, thank you for reading them 😭😭 YEAH IT’S NOT COMMON LOL… i notice it quite often among the fandom and i don’t blame them like I Get it, plus it’s not like it’s mandatory to consume every dynamic your fav has LMAO but yeah, it’s not how i explore canon personally…

like i actually think midochia is MORE elevated by ALLLLLL the relationships around the two and midochia’s dynamic itself is what gets me FURTHER invested in the rest of their dynamics and vice versa. i can’t get myself to consume midochia separately and independently from other relationships. in fact i talk about tetora and chiaki’s relationship here (romantic mentions in the ask) while relating it directly back to my love for midochia, and the same with when i spoke about tetora and midori’s relationship here. BOTH OF WHICH ARE CRUCIAL RELATIONSHIPS TO UNDERSTAND MIDOCHIA SO FUCKING MUCH. I CAN TALK ABOUT IT FOR YEARS. but also that i will be speaking about it while being Extremely Biased towards midochia and in the context of "midochia are the answer to each other’s arcs" because that’s my perception of canon and what i believe canon is working towards. (you don’t have to read those asks btw i’m just insane about midochia and ryuseitai)

and YEAH!!! THERE’S ALWAYS VALUE IN ANALYSIS I AGREE! sometimes there’s some dynamics i’m Extremely Neutral about but i acknowledge they have a lot of canon relevance so i still want to make sense of that… sometimes it’s the opposite, i’m well aware canon is saying these two won’t healthily work for each other but that’s why i’m so invested in it LMAO i won’t even BOTHER to pretend they’re The Answer to each other’s arcs!!! i know they probably will never be on the same page AND IT’S SO GOOD!!!

and i feel like all of this thinking and analyzing gives me a better picture of Why these dynamics exist for the character since i truly believe practically any dynamic established in enstars has a reason and purpose to it (especially if akira is the one who wrote it. that guy is extremely deliberate with his writing choices imo). and i absolutely Never Ever think platonic relationships are less relevant than romantically-written relationships… in fact what i love So Much about enstars is that platonically-written and romantically-written relationships both hold so SO much weight and are so crucial and it’s so good… so fucking good GUHHHH (and as mentioned in the asks i linked and in here, sometimes i actually do romantically ship the platonically-written dynamic so it reaaally has nothing to do with my ship preferences LOL) (Except Midochia.) (i’m just plain insane about midochia it’s on a different level entirely)
