Answered Question: Thoughts on Chiaki and Subaru in the New Main Story

Hello! I don’t see you talk about the last enst story so, i really want to know your opinions on the last enstars story the part when subaru get conflict and chiaki try to help him!

(this isn’t really a shippy post, and only talks about canon scenes !!)

it doesn’t bother me!! and yes chiaki’s parts in the main story were So Good. it was so pleasantly surprising to have a story showcase ryuseitai excelling so well and chiaki being the one to excel the most out of them, and then of course chiaki using his influence to try and help other people with streams is just ☺️❤️ it felt like gourmet chiaki but this time he has ryuseitai with him from the start, so he’s thriving from day 1, and also this time the people he’s helping aren’t faceless contestants in the program, but other characters we also know and love

as for the subaru and chiaki parts, wow, there’s a lot:

  • big, big big fan of it being a callback to their moments from the 1st ! era main story. chiaki’s first appearance there was to help subaru and fire his spirit back up. was a big fan of chiaki mentioning it when he was talking about how he wants to save subaru

  • LOVE subaru’s reasoning for refusing to get chiaki’s help. knowing chiaki would willingly help him, but he doesn’t want to ruin anything for ryuseitai right now (as they’re the top rankers) especially not with slander, since ryuseitai already went through so much of that (and even more tense problems) back in !! era year 1. and because he wants chiaki to WIN (i cried btw). i also feel like this alone showed subaru’s growth over the years, and his trust in chiaki and his capabilities as a hero (especially if you compare it to meteor impact subaru. he’s come so far…)

  • love the part where keito tries to tell subaru that chiaki wants to help him so why keep refusing his calls/offers to collab. keito even showed subaru a livestream segment dedicated to stretching a hand out to subaru. after keito and subaru talk it out, keito’s like "you’re right he’s probably watching us talk on stream right now actually" and subaru’s like "haha you know we call that being a stalker, right?" LIKE OUGHHHH THANK YOU FOR BRINGING BACK CRAZY CHIAKI I’M SOOOO HAPPY MY BRAIN WAS HAVING A DISCO DANCE AT THIS LINE. THAT’S RIGHT CHIAKI IS SO FREAKISHLY PERSISTENT IT REACHES "STALKER" LEVELS /POSPOSPOSPOS shout out to this even being presented through how he tried chasing down midori everywhere after he ran away

  • love the part where chiaki comes out of Fucking Nowhere in subaru and esu’s stream and subaru is like omfg didn’t even call him over and he’s here and chiaki’s like WHERE DID I GO WRONG TELL ME 10 THINGS ABOUT ME THAT’S WRONG and subaru’s like ok ok dude you have way too many good things about you so it’s fine to have a few things lacking yeah?? like omg …💞💞

  • and just overall was very very pleased with chiaki’s role in the story n__n…. the fact even at the end, chiaki was the one up against tori, the top person of the four sky kings… because chiaki was the top ranker in the stream 💞💞💞
